Let's just say we have free will - "we can do whatever we can" (ie we cannot fly by willpower alone)
If you throw a rock down a cliff - does it go wherever it wants to go?
The dread and anxiety is feeling as if you have control, you have free will, because it puts on presume that you must make the right decisions.
